Im Glas überzeugt der Rum sehr mahagonifarben. Jedoch erscheint der Ron Zacapa Reserva Limitada 2014 nicht ganz so süß wie sein Vorbild. Geschmacklich öffnet er ein Spektrum von vielen Aromen. Darunter geröstete Nüsse, Schokolade, karamellisierte Früchte, Vanille und Toffee. Noten von Rosinen und Zitrusfrüchten lassen ihn noch komplexer und eleganter erscheinen. Das Fruchtige und Süße harmoniert perfekt und wird abgerundet durch eine leichte Nuance der Eichenholz- und Sherryfässer. Dadurch wirkt der Rum nicht ganz so süß und sehr mild. Ein weiterer, sehr gelungener Rum des Herstellers Ron Zacapa.

The 2014 Zacapa Reserva Limitada takes the magic of Zacapa to a whole new level. It's made using a blend of hand selected reserve rums ranging from 6 - 24 years old. These rums have been aged in a variety of casks including charred white oak, those that held robust American whiskies and delicate sherry and fine Pedro Ximenez wine casks.

The sublime complexity of this bottle is achieved by further allowing the barrels to 'double age' over time in the Zacapa herb garden, situated in the cool climate of the Guatemalan highlands.

The result is fruitier, deeper flavour notes with a subtle hint of fresh green herbs.
